Viewers from 148 countries pursued voyage in the world’s longest live-TV documentary Hamburg Hurtigruten, July 1, 2011 – the attendance record of the Norwegian TV channel NRK 2 had historical dimensions: more than 3 million Norwegians watched the live broadcast of the journey of the MS Nordnorge from Bergen to Kirkenes from June 16 to 22 in the television. But not only half Norway watched: almost half of all live stream viewers on the Internet came from abroad. According to the broadcaster NRK 2.9 million people watched the voyage on the Internet or through linked websites of partners worldwide. The figures show a great interest in the Hurtigruten tour along the Norwegian coast and also on NRK’s innovative transmission concept decelerated television.
The live broadcast of the journey of the MS Nordnorge had triggered a national mobilization, each port along the coast wanted to present themselves and celebrated. “Also on the Facebook page of the show Hurtigruten minute by minute”, it was high, more than 65,000 “likes” were registered during the 7-day voyage.
